Mr. Derwin “Kurt” Sheley, 59, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020.
Funeral services for Mr. Sheley were conducted on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at 4 p.m. in Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Frank Hutcheson officiating. Due to COVID-19, this service was intended for family only.
Mr. Sheley was a native of Savannah and had made his home on Lake Sinclair from the past 35 years, He was a boiler maker and worked for the Southern Company. He was a member of Rising Star No. 4 F&AM and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Robin Allen Sheley; daughter, Angela Black (Kenneth) of Eatonton; sons, Brandon Michael Sheley (Kira) and Cody Sheley of Lake Sinclair; mother, Betty Wallace Sheley Villafranco and sister, Lindy Long of Bloomindale; grandsons, Tyler Black and Justin Black; father-in-law, James Allen of Martinez, GA
From Robin: I Love you so much. You were a great husband and father. You loved all of your family. Awesome person. You were the kindest person I ever met. You cared about people. You helped out many people. Family and strangers. Home with strangers. Home with our father the Lord Jesus Christ. No more pain and suffering.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, to the American Cancer Society, or to The Wounded Warrior Project.
