Eatonton Health and Rehab responds to reports of COVID-19 outbreak at facility
After press time on Tuesday, the Eatonton Health and Rehabilitation Center issued a statement on questions posed by The Eatonton Messenger in regards to the coronavirus COVID-19 status at the nursing facility. The statement, in part, read as follows: “As of April 21, in total, fourteen patients at Eatonton Health and Rehabilitation have tested positive for COVID 19 and we are currently awaiting test results for one patient. Unfortunately, two patients have died who tested COVID positive. Also, one staff member has tested positive for the virus.
Eatonton Health and Rehabilitation is committed to the privacy of our patients. To protect this privacy, our patients’ health information and specifics related to individual patients will not be released. Furthermore, we cannot confirm the status of individual patients who have been transferred from our center. Eatonton Health and Rehabilitation, like other centers across the state, is working closely with the National Guard. As a valued support during this public health emergency, we continue to reach out to the National Guard to schedule future dates for additional cleaning services, as offered. We are grateful for their help and support during this time, as we must all continue to work together to defeat this virus.”
The Eatonton Messenger will continue to follow this story and will have continuing coverage of the coronavirus pandemic in Putnam County in our April 30 edition.
