Eva Suvella “Belba” Thomas, 60, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021.

Funeral services for Suvella Thomas were conducted on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Crossroads Baptist Church with Pastor John McMillian Jr., and Lenwood Pickens, Jr. officiating. Interment followed in Crestlawn Cemetery.

Suvella was born in Eatonton, GA on December 13, 1960 to Mrs. Ealvy Dodd Thomas and the late Melvin Hoke Thomas. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Rosa Lynn Thomas. Suvella was a lifelong resident of Eatonton. She was employed by Gatewood Schools as a School Bus Driver. She also served the community of Putnam County for eleven years at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

Suvella is survived by her mother, Ealvy Thomas; her baby girl that she cherished, Deandra Nelms of Eatonton; her sisters, Lina Thomas (Marvin) of Eatonton, Janey Thomas (Tony) of Eatonton, and Karen King (Jimmy) of Alto; a niece, Melissia Rusk (Jay) of Buckhead ; nephews, Lenwood Pickens (Savannah) of Milledgeville, Chris Nelms (Ricki) of Eatonton, Jerry Nelms (Shawna) of Buford, Walter King (Haley) of Alto, and Mitchell King of Canada; great nephews, T.J. Rusk and Salem Pickens; great nieces, Selah Pickens, Aimee Nelms, and Jade Nelms; and numerous cousins and friends that she loved dearly.

The family has requested that those who wish to make memorial contributions do so to Crossroads Baptist Church, 106 S. Wesley Chapel Road, Eatonton, GA 31024.
