Mayme Lou Butts-Palmer took her wings on September 9, 2020 in Philadelphia, PA.

Mayme was born to the parentage of the Late Emanuel Sr. and Verlie M. Butts on August 24, 1940. She received her education in the Putnam County School System and graduated from Butler Baker School. At an early age, she professed her faith and belief in Jesus Christ and joined Texas AME Church in Eatonton, Georgia. After she moved to Philadelphia, PA she moved her membership to Greater Saint Luke Disciple Church of Christ, where she served as a member of the Pastor’s Aide. Mayme was united in Holy Matrimony to the Late Curtis E. Palmer Sr. Through this union they had three beautiful children: two daughters, Ruby and Yolanda Palmer, one son Curtis E. Palmer Jr. all of Philadelphia, PA. Mayme took pride in her family and she was one that never knew a stranger. She truly was God’s love personified. She not only gave it but she received from all she knew. Mayme worked at Albert Einstein Hospital as an Anesthesia Technician for over 25 years where she received numerous accolades for her work. After retiring in 2001, she continued to sow into her family and community. She became a staple for her kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews and many within the community. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Curtis E. Palmer Sr.; siblings, Moses Butts Sr., Mary E. Johnson, Emanuel Butts Jr., Annie Butts-Maddox, Margaret Butts, Lillie J. Butts, Agnes T. Butts-Person and Willie F. Butts.

Mayme leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Ruby, Yolanda and Deacon Curtis Palmer Jr. (Annette) all of Philadelphia, PA; Grandchildren, Brandon, Keara, Brittany and Christopher Palmer. She was graciously awaiting the arrival of her 1st Great-granddaughter, Harlie Lou-Gre Palmer; Her sister, Martha Lawrence (David) of Oxford, GA; a loving and devoted cousin, Delores Mack of Ellenwood, GA; Special niece, Melissa J. Butts; great niece, Jaelynn Grant; Brother In-Laws, Deacon Joe Adams (Elaine) of Milledgeville, GA; Sister In-Laws, Ernestine Butts of Philadelphia, PA, Rose Marie Martin (Willie) of Bear, Delaware and Bertha Palmer of Milledgeville, GA, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
