Georgia Writers Museum introduces ‘Walk-in Wednesdays’

The Georgia Writers Museum invites everyone to stop by the downtown Eatonton Museum on Walk-in Wednesdays, beginning June 11 and scheduled to continue until the highly anticipated reopening of Sylvia’s Coffee Shop, once its operators return from an unavoidable absence.

So, make GWM your mid-week go-to destination to enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee and a free tour of the museum, offered every hour on the hour.

Additionally, a monthly raffle will be held to win a book written by a Georgia author. Just stop by GWM any Wednesday starting June 11 to enter your name and email address for the raffle. Entries collected each Wednesday throughout each month will be eligible for a drawing to be held on the first day of the following month, beginning July 1.

Also, in partnership with local actress and musician Anenaca Simpson, each Walk-in Wednesday in July will feature local musicians performing at GWM. You’re sure to see some familiar faces, so come show them support and get a free cup of coffee as well.

Everyone at the Georgia Writers Museum encourages those who frequented Sylvia’s Coffee Shop and the museum to stop by and reconnect — we miss seeing all your happy faces.

For those who haven’t visited GWM before, Walk-in Wednesdays offer the perfect opportunity to discover what the museum is all about. Browse exhibits on famous local authors like Alice Walker and Flannery O’Connor, and stay up-to-date on all the fun, unique events regularly taking place at GWM.

We miss our old friends and look forward to meeting new ones! Contact visitorservices@georgiawritersmuseum.org with questions about Walk-in Wednesdays or any other events at GWM.

The Georgia Writers Museum (109 S. Jefferson Ave., Eatonton) is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., for self-guided tours.

Scheduled individual and group tours are arranged by appointment. GWM also presents monthly programs as well as several special events annually.
