New Habitat ReStore opening soon

Habitat for Humanity of Putnam (HFHP) will host a grand-opening weekend for its new ReStore location May 2-4, with festivities to include complimentary morning coffee and pastries. An official ribbon-cutting ceremony in collaboration with the Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce will follow May 16 at 4:30 p.m.

FIRH makes plans via online meeting

The Putnam County Faith in Rural Health (FIRH) Back to School and Health Fair Planning held an April 11 Zoom meeting, with about a dozen community group members attending. FIRH Program Director Paul Byrd hosted the call and welcomed everyone to join in for a discussion about planning upcoming events.

Several CBLO agents gain recognition

Several agents for Coldwell Banker Lake Oconee Realty/Lake Country (CBLO) have recently been recognized with industry awards and for individual achievements. Leading the way, CBLO’s Robert Boatright was named Realtor of the Year, and Lauren Coyne was awarded Rookie of the Year honors, both by the Lake Country Board of Realtors.

Sylvia’s hosts Mocha House

Presented by The Arts Barn and The Plaza Arts Center, Sylvia's Coffee in downtown Eatonton hosted its first Mocha House Friday night. Approximately 10 entertainers from early teenagers to young adults took turns at the Mocha House microphone, singing songs, reciting self-written poetry, and playing instruments in front of a packed house of several dozen appreciative fans. The evening culminated in an all-in vocal rendition of “Fly Me to the Moon,” led by emcee Anenaca Simpson on piano and 19-year-old Elisa Garcia-Carreras on piano.

Tri-County EMC gives back to community

A Tri-County EMC Operation Round Up virtual workshop meeting was hosted via Zoom on April 11 by Communications Specialist Anna Smith and Jonathan Pitts of the TCEMC Foundation Board. Individuals interested in the voluntary program attended the meeting to learn more and get their questions answered.

Pro rodeo returns to Greene County

The Greene County Livestock Association and Greene County Extension have roped a milestone this year by bringing in the Bubba Oubre Rodeo Company for the 25th annual Greene County Pro Rodeo this weekend.
