Dear Editor, I am struck by the recent firing of the NPR journalist of 21 years who exposed that this government-sponsored media service is biased and any information that is positive about Republicans is squelched or misrepresented. I do believe that we all know the media is biased, whether it is MSNBC and CNN to the liberal side, or Fox to the conservative. It is unfortunate, but these are privately owned businesses and We the People make our choice of which we want to listen to.But a news source funded by a government that is allegedly devoted to free speech is heinous in not being an agency of free speech.

Dear Dick Yarbrough, I appreciated your column of March 27 ( The Eatonton Messenger: “Becoming a Bulldog – Forever”) that described the remarkable credentials of UGA’s newly admitted students. Let’s face it. We’re a blessed people. Not only do we have the oldest state-chartered university in the nation with two recent National Football Championships, 27 Rhodes Scholars (but who’s counting?), and the greatest state song in the history of the world – Georgia on my Mind, as sung by Ray Charles Robinson – but we are also home to the sweet Vidalia onion. Our cup runneth over.
