Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit Assistant District Attorney C. Blayne May of Greensboro was elected, and his fellow Assistant District Attorney Stephen R. Morris of Madison was re-elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the 56,000-member State Bar of Georgia.
They were installed on June 13.
May will serve in the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit, Post 1 seat on the board, representing Baldwin, Greene, Hancock, Jasper, Jones, Morgan, Putnam, and Wilkinson counties.
May earned his law degree from Georgia State University College of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2017. He has served as a prosecutor for his entire legal career.
Morris will continue to serve in the Post 3 seat from the Ocmulgee Circuit. He is a graduate of Florida Coastal School of Law and joined the Georgia State Bar in 2012.
He joined the District Attorney’s Office in September 2025 after 13 years in private law practice. Morris is also a past president of the Ocmulgee Circuit Bar Association.
The Board of Governors is the 160-member policymaking authority of the State Bar, with representation from each of Georgia’s judicial circuits. The board holds regular meetings at least four times per year.
