Northbound traffic on the U.S. 441 Eatonton Bypass was backed up about 20 minutes this morning (Oct. 26) due to a two-vehicle crash that happened around 6:20 a.m. according to authorities.
One person, identified as Allison Bishop of Eatonton, was taken by ambulance to Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center in Macon for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, Police Chief Howell Cardwell said.
Bishop was traveling south on the bypass in a 2014 Ford Escape and attempted to turn onto Jefferson Avenue. Her compact SUV crashed into a 2022 Dodge pickup that was traveling north on the bypass, driven by Feliciano Lopez-Ruiz, who sustained minor cuts and bruises, Cardwell noted.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
