Door-to-door solicitors arrested at sheriff’s house

Two door-to-door salesmen picked the wrong house Saturday and ended up in the Putnam County jail. Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills was outside working in his yard Saturday afternoon when two men in a pickup truck pulled into his driveway.

Teen arrested at primary school

Eatonton Police Department was called to Putnam County Primary School yesterday (May 24) regarding an alleged fight between two adults around 11 a.m. As it turned out, the dispute was between a 15-year-old boy and his mother, according to a report by Sgt. Harold “Buddy” Bowman.

Fatality on Pea Ridge Road claims life of Milledgeville woman

A head-on collision on Pea Ridge Road yesterday took the life of an elderly woman and had traffic shut down for four hours, authorities say. Linda Kelley, 75, of Milledgeville, was killed in the wreck which happened around 12:08 p.m., according to Putnam County Sheriff Department’s Col.
