On Sept. 11, event organizers Pete Youngs (left) and Capt. Keenan Nottingham hosted a First Responders Appreciation Day at Lake Oconee. Event sponsors included PeteYoungs.com, Nottingham Guide Service, and Anchors Marina, with lunch provided by Giant Subs. Youngs and Nottingham were joined by eight top fishing guides, who took 36 first responders out for a four-hour fishing tour. Overall, the group caught about 150 fish before returning to the marina, where everyone enjoyed sandwiches while remembering 9-11 and showing respect and appreciation to local first responders, retired and active.
