Man dies from injuries after 4-wheeler crash

An outing on a 4-wheeler over the weekend turned tragic Monday afternoon when the driver died from injuries sustained in a crash, Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills told The Eatonton Messenger.

Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center in Macon notified the sheriff’s office that Kenneth Reid Meyer, 31, of Eatonton, died from his injuries this afternoon, Sills said.

Meyer was driving a Honda ATV on the 100 block of Flatrock Road Saturday afternoon shortly before 4 p.m. when he drove off the roadway and crashed into a utility pole. The impact caused him to be thrown from the ATV, Sills said.

Putnam County EMS personnel responded to the accident, and Meyer was flown by helicopter to the trauma center in Macon.
