Dear editor:
Again it has been a very busy, busy week, but I absolutely love it.
First on the agenda was the Ferst Foundation storybook character contest. I played the perfect Little Red Riding Hood. I had fun, fun, fun and I can’t wait to participate again. I always say “Reading is a window into the outside world.”
I can’t say enough about The Dairy Festival. It was absolutely great, great, great. The number of visitors was out of this world. The Pilot Club and all their helpers definitely need to be congratulated. As you know, I love talking to people and storytelling. I did my share that day. The platform guests were outstanding. All we need next year is the band leading the parade, OK?
I spent three days before the Dairy Festival volunteering with Vacation Bible School at St. John AME Church. It was great. Very informative classes and the young people were so well behaved. The teachers and food crew enjoyed themselves, too.
Don’t forget Mothers Against Crime is sponsoring the Annual Youth Rally on Saturday, June 11, at Putnam County’s best kept secret (Oconee Springs Park). The time is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fun, food and games provided. (Churches and everyone else), come out and bring the children and enjoy yourself.
Also remember another yard sale on June 8, sidewalk by Maxway’s. Everything is free.
I really believe the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter. We have to pray for the victims and families of these crimes. Unity will work on all of this.
Thought for today: If I carry my worries with me and never lay them down, even to sleep, I become less and less able to meet the challenges they represent. Worry is a form of self-destruction, while faith is a means of daily renewal. Pray.
