The presenter will be Katy Ross of Night Song Native Plant Nursery, Canton, and the topic is: “Medicinal Plants From The Past.” There will be a native plant sale as well as an herb expert, Marsha Herren, who will be on site to answer questions about growing herbs. What: Kids Bike League- A Program of the Georgia Hi-Lo Trail

When: Two Sessions [Morning- 9-11:30 a.m. and Evening- 5:30-8:30 p.m.]

Where: Greene County Recreation Department – 2741 Old Union Point Rd, Greensboro

More Info: The Georgia Hi-Lo Trail is bringing its Kids Bike League program to Greene County this summer. During the week of June 27 to July 1, kids ages three years old to high school will learn bicycle skills, from beginner level with a balance bike to advanced level skills. In addition, campers will learn the skills to mountain bike with confidence and safety from the BRAG (Bike Ride Across Georgia) Dream Team Coaches. Coaches will share their experience, expertise, and passion for cycling. Also, naturalists will teach lessons about the Georgia landscape, including identification and safety for ticks, snakes & poisonous plants. The Greensboro camp will be hosted at the Greene County Recreation Department at 2741 Old Union Point Road, Greensboro, Georgia. For the week, the camp provides a daily meal, bikes, and helmets for each camper for $75. In addition, scholarships are available for a $5 application fee. What: A Naturalist’s View in Watercolors exhibit

More Info: A one-woman show of works by well-known watercolorist and teacher Leigh Ellis, who is a naturalist educated in zoology and ecology, with a Masters in Science in Biology, and who studied painting and design at the University of Hawaii and Montana State University and participated in Smithsonian Institute workshops. More Info: David Drake was an enslaved Black potter in South Carolina who produced stoneware jugs inscribed with original poetry in a time when this knowledge was a punishable offense. A second gallery installation features ceramic work by contemporary artist Zipporah Camille Thompson of Atlanta. Her work fuses old and new, referencing ancient cultures and millennial predilections.
