Music, theatre enhance education

Dear editor,

I hope everyone took the time to read Mo Brower’s July 7 article, “The benefits of performing arts programs in our schools.” Having taught students at many levels, I totally agree that everything she said about music and live theater enhancing students’ learning skills and their interest and involvement in their education.

I also agree with Ms. Brower that we are blessed to have so many opportunities here in the Briar Patch for kids of all ages through which they can participate and grow to become future leaders and contributing members of their community.

Not trying to be dramatic here, but a good education is about a lot more than filling in worksheets and correctly answering true/false and multiple-choice questions on a test.
