Letters to the Editor: If you need to sing, sing!

Dear Editor,

I am standing outside observing plants and trees in bloom. What a wonderful sight! Anyone else might be inside eating breakfast or doing chores, but remember, I am nosy and always want to know what’s going on!

And I am so very proud of all the activities going on. The Seuss on the Loose program at Putnam County Elementary School was a big success – again! Hats off to the Ferst Readers members, this program is definitely a big plus for our very young people!

Today reminds me of years ago, school is out for the day and the children are playing outside, riding bikes and playing ball and all the other fun games.

The Uncle Remus Museum has been busy too, filled with people from all over, and you guessed it, I have enjoyed each and every moment with them as I promptly put on my promotional hat and cheerfully talk about Eatonton and Putnam County. I love doing it.

I spent some time at Brown’s Chapel Cemetery last Saturday. My family and I went to place flowers on family graves. March 11th was my grandmother Adell Bullards’ birthday. She lived to be 110 years old and she was a blessing to all of us.

Please remember to thank our city and county workers. They are doing a great job and we really appreciate it. And remember our law enforcement and all emergency workers. They work hard at keeping us all safe.

Thought for today: If you need to sing, sing! If you can’t carry a tune, let the spirit carry it for you. Just make a joyful noise.

God Bless, Georgia Benjamin-Smith
