Dear Editor,
I’ll start first of all with my personal opinion: my favorite holidays (holy days) are the celebrations of the birth of Jesus, the resurrection of Jesus, and America’s celebration of independence on the Fourth of July!
Now to some sad facts. Many, many of our young people are not being taught the true Judeo-Christian roots of the founding of this country. The Bible was ushered out of America’s school systems in 1963. I was 13 years young at the time, at the onset of my teenage years when the Bible was needed most in many young people’s lives.
I listen to many historians and evangelists who do not water down the Bible to please their congregations, so I cannot give you all my resources, but one I will provide today is 102.7 FM out of Appling, part of the Good News Network (GNNradio.org), which has stations in Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina. If you are a person who doesn’t like to read, you can listen to the Bible taught one verse at a time.
History is taught, family values are taught, resources for whatever you need help with are advertised (many are free), a short blurb of news is given every hour, the wisdom literature of Proverbs is repeated every month, a children’s program, Adventures in Odyssey, is aired every Saturday morning, and there’s much more.
I am proud to be an American citizen who was promised her God-given unalienable rights to pursue the freedoms declared and made law in our great United States Constitution!
