Letter to the Editor: Sad sign of the times

Dear Board of Commissioners and Leadership,

I am writing to bring to your attention the condition of the entrance sign on GA-142 when approaching from Newborn, Georgia, toward Eatonton. It is disheartening and embarrassing to see the sign in such a state, and it reflects poorly on the overall aesthetics of our county.

Maintaining signage and infrastructure is a complex task, and I believe that our county leadership is capable of addressing this issue.

As a concerned citizen and taxpayer, I kindly urge the relevant authorities to consider addressing the condition of the entrance sign as soon as possible. Given the significance of this road in connecting to Covington and Atlanta, I believe that a well-maintained and welcoming entrance sign would positively contribute to our county's image. I am hopeful and confident that our leadership shares my desire to take pride in our county and its appearance. The sign has been in this state for about three months now.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope to see positive action taken soon.

Sincerely, Charles Trumbo, Putnam County
