Letter to the Editor: Celebrate simpler times at ‘Stepback’

Dear Editor,

One day each year, we all have a chance to experience our not-so-distant past at Stepback, an actual historic village replica created by Roger Pierce and company. Roger does this annually out of love and respect for an era perhaps forgotten by some or maybe just unknown, but that can be rectified during this informative but fun fall tradition.

On-site docents welcome Stepback visitors with free admission to witness the ways of our ancestors as they worked in mills, stores, schools, and churches.

We hope everyone in Putnam County and beyond will visit Stepback at 176 Dennis Station Rd., Eatonton, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, to be reminded of a time when power outages or a lack of WiFi access didn’t exist to upset anyone’s day.
