Three people, including two infants, were taken to the hospital for complaints of injuries following a vehicle crash Thursday, Feb. 27, according to Putnam County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Deputy Todd Hudspeth worked the wreck, which involved a 2019 Nissan Altima, driven by a 36-year-old Eatonton woman, and a 2014 Toyota Prius driven by 48-year-old Thomas Pringle of McDonough.
Around 3:30 p.m., the Altima was traveling west on Pea Ridge Road. As the driver approached the end of Pea Ridge and was turning left onto U.S. Hwy. 441/State Route 24, Pringle crashed into the driver’s side of the Altima. The impact set off all airbags in both vehicles, according to Hudspeth’s report.
The Altima driver said she had the green light, but Pringle admitted to the deputy that he had run the red light. He had been traveling north on 441/24.
A baby and a 1-year-old were properly secured in child car seats in the back seat of the Altima. They, along with the driver, were taken by ambulance to Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin Emergency Department in Milledgeville for treatment of “possible injury or complaint of injury,” according to the report.
Pringle received a citation for running the red light.
