Rev. John C. McMillian Sr.

Pastor John was born on January 17, 1934 in Gwinnett County, Georgia to the late Alvia and Mae McMillian of Gwinnett County. He was the youngest of nine children, all of which have preceded him in death. He was married to Peggy Rawlins McMillian of Snellville, Georgia for seventy-three years. They had two children, Sharon and John, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. When he was twelve years old, Pastor John was saved and baptized. He later answered God’s call to Gospel ministry and began preaching when he was fourteen years old.

In those early days he was often called the “boy preacher.” John remained faithful to serve in this calling to ministry even up until his death. He earned a Bachelor of Theology degree from Immanuel Bible College.

He served numerous churches around middle and northern Georgia.

Throughout his ministry, he baptized many people and helped many couples take their wedding vows.

One of his greatest joys was seeing children and young men and women serve the Lord. He took great delight in helping and encouraging young men starting out in ministry. Throughout his life, he loved the Lord and His Church. He enjoyed worshipping together and fellowshipping with God’s people, where he longed to engage in discussions around the Word of God.

At the time of his death, he was a faithful member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Eatonton, Georgia. Pastor John proudly served in the United States Army and National Guard.

On October 16, 2026, Pastor John went home to be with the Lord.
