I am totally exhausted.
I have been wandering mentally and physically for weeks.
Why?
Because I think I am forgetting lots of things. Then I remember my grandmother's sayings. She lived to be 110 blessed years. She always said, There’s nothing wrong with your mind; you only have too much on your plate.
Apparently, my plate is running over. Over the course of weeks, we have attended several funerals as friends and relatives have gone on to their heavenly home. Sad, but something we know will happen to all of us. One day, my prayers go out to all the sick and shut-ins, and to their families.
On another note, there are happenings all over our beautiful town, with visitors galore.
People are really interested in our town, its activities, its people, and, definitely, its history.
Also, remember November 16th at my church, St. John AMC on Willie Bailey Street, we will celebrate a Women’s Day program at 2 p.m.
Reverend Simone Jones will be the speaker, and everyone is invited.
Remember God’s flower garden that is Eatonton-Putnam County. God’s flower garden is always in bloom. Today is an absolutely beautiful day. A day we have not seen before and will not see again.
I miss talking to Becky Meyer at The Messenger so much that I will not go into that back entrance again, but we will all meet again. What a celebration that will be! I also miss my neighbor, James Earnest Griffin. He always teased me about yelling very loud at my kids when they left. After each visit, I always stand in the door and shout very loudly, “See you, love you!” until I can’t see the back of their vehicle driving away.
My heart was quite heavy when I started to write, but I am feeling much, much better now because I am thinking of this: If I have stepped into a rut recently, I must refuse to focus on my feet, turning my eyes heavenward. I will call the Lord and trust him to save me.
