Sometimes I wonder.
No, I wonder quite a bit.
Then the wandering steps in, and that’s probably where the Georgia train starts to move.
For instance, if I planned to rob a bank, I probably would not be able to do it because, for some reason, it seems like everyone knows me, and that’s not great at times.
January was a month to remember. The snow was beautiful, cold snow everywhere. I absolutely loved it! On the bushes, on the trees, on cars, decks, just beautiful, beautiful snow. I began to reflect on my childhood days.
There were several events last month as well. For instance, the annual Family and Friends Day at St. John AME Church was a packed house.
Then I began to mix up my appointments and schedule several things for the same day.
So how did I handle this? First, I sat down, got myself a Moon Pie, a bottle of H2O, and cleared my cloudy brain.
It works.
My chosen six.
That is always what I call my six kids. They come to visit or call quite often, and that is. from Augusta to Macon, Georgia. They keep the phones busy and the highways busy, but I won’t complain.
I also got a chance to meet a new grandbaby from Nashville, Tennessee. What a joy and blessing that was!
In February, I have several events I am looking forward to. For instance, February 6th is the soup luncheon at the Methodist Church sponsored by Putnam General Hospital Auxiliary. Also, I have a dinner invitation at the same church on February 12th, and everyone should come on out to Greater Jefferson Church on Slater Road on February 22nd.
Oh, and I almost forgot, on February 19th, the annual Kiwanis Pancake Supper will also be at First Methodist Church in March. I will join Weight Watchers then. I will definitely need it.
Also, please keep all the sick and shut-ins and the bereaved families in your prayers. My thought for today: As I help others, I cultivate a true spirit of helpfulness and love in those around me, in my children, in my neighbors, in visitors, and in my community.
