Dear editor: Another week has passed and I am still being nosy. Oops, sorry, I forgot, I have graduated – I am concerned.
I celebrated my 82nd birthday on Sunday, August 14. My birthday is really on the 15th, but I had something in mind. I wanted all six of my children, my friends and everyone to attend St. John AME Church on Sunday with me. I am so very, very happy that we had such a large crowd. On that day, my daughter (Kim), her youngest son (B.J.) and myself joined the St. John AME family. (Our church, Browns Chapel AME Church, closed years ago.) I am so happy.
Now, I want to say how much I enjoy The Eatonton Gardenerd (in The Messenger). I am trying very hard to apply some of the points and suggestions to my own backyard jungle. I have plants, bushes, etc. growing that I believe sneaked into my yard after dark. Help!
Someone come and help me identify them!
I have to start riding around the county to be nosy – sorry, concerned. Over at Harmony Crossing I went in the area by Mercer Med and saw all the medical facilities there. I was so happy. Putnam County, I am so proud of you.
Our schools are growing like mad, our law enforcement stays on the job, restaurants are crowded.
Eatonton and Putnam County, you are showing off, but remember if it wasn’t for good leadership we couldn’t do it. Now pat yourself on the back.
I also was very impressed to meet Senator Warnock at Ebenezer Baptist Church last Thursday. Very impressive and the crowd was large.
I must run now. I think I have some of my jungle trying to get inside!
