Ferst Readers thanks supporters

Letters to the Editor

Dear editor:

Ferst Readers of Putnam County wants to thank The Eatonton Messenger and Lake Oconee News for their coverage of our Storybook Character fundraiser. Your help in getting the word out to our community was invaluable.

Special thanks also go to our participants without whom there would have been no contest. Congratulations again to our first place winner, Reva Alexander-Hawk as Anne of Green Gables; our second place winner, Lynn Hudson with Kibby from the Kibby series; our third place winner, Mrs. Georgia Benjamin Smith as Little Red Riding Hood; and our fourth place winner, Trevor and Pelar Addison as Papa and Mama from the Berenstain Bears. Our other fabulous contestants were Colby Hunter as Piggie, Heidi and Bowie King as Mama & Baby Llama, Mrs. Becki Norrod as Pete the Cat, Hannah Parham as Pipi Longstocking, Coach Shaun Pope & Ava Kate as the Man in the Yellow Hat and Curious George, and Mayor John Reid as the Wolf from the True Story of the 3 Little Pigs. Thanks to all of you, 106 Putnam County children will be receiving a year of free books!
