Letter to the Editor: Chief appreciates Shop With a Cop contributors

Dear Editor,

for covering the 2023 Shop With a Cop at our local Walmart.

I also want to thank Tonya Thomas of the Eatonton Police Department for putting this event together, Walmart for participating, and Randy Mason of Zaxby’s for feeding the children, parents, and police officers who participated in this event by providing them with a hot and delicious meal.

I would also like to thank the Eatonton police officers and dispatchers who participated in this event.

This event would not have been possible without these local businesses and citizens who helped fund it: Michelle Bechtell and her mother, Dolly Bechtell; The Retreat of Atlanta; Tytan Pictures; Walt Rocker Jr.; Busters Pantry; Joe’s Roofing; Dairy Queen; Embry Transport; The Smoke Studio; Rossee Oil; Vining Hill Chapel; Gregory Bridge; Eatonton Elks Lodge; Piggly Wiggly; Brooks Automotive; Ace Hardware; Tito’s Precision Body Shop; Putnam Funeral Home; Discount Tobacco, Radio One; Eatonton Chiropractor; and The Artisan’s Village.

Thank you all for supporting the Eatonton Police Department and the children of Eatonton.

Chief Howell Cardwell, Eatonton Police Department
