Dear Editor,
I really enjoyed the story on Sinclair Dam last week. When we moved to Milledgeville, I was going into fourth grade. We had a fourth-grade field trip to the dam for a tour, etc.
They took us to the top of the dam and all these fourth graders were leaning over and looking over both sides, the lake side and the river/spillway side.
Then they took us into the dam, and we walked through the tunnel. I remember water leaking through seams and spilling onto the floor. I really enjoyed the experience, but shortly afterward, they quit giving that tour to school kids. I’ve always wondered about the lake’s and dam’s history.
