Letter to the Editor: The pastor states his case

Dear Editor,

In response to the political ad published in last week’s Eatonton Messenger, which included a chart suggesting that certain candidates, including me, were recruited by the PDA or attended a PDA meeting, I want to clarify the facts.

As I have stated publicly at recorded meetings, in printed materials, on digital platforms, and in conversations throughout District 4, I have no affiliation with any PDA recruitment efforts.

My decision to run for county commissioner was made in November after discussions with my family, close friends, and community members who encouraged me to step forward. In February, I attended a gathering solely to meet other candidates. It was not a PDA meeting, nor were PDA-related topics discussed at any point during my time there.

I remain committed to running an open, honest campaign and to ensuring that voters have accurate information as they make their decisions.

Paul Gardner, Putnam County BOC District 4 candidate
