Letter to the Editor: Touting Trump in 2024

Dear Editor,

I am a firm believer that at this point in the history of our country and the world, Donald Trump is the right person to get us out of what looks like a looming disaster: rampant inflation, wars, an overrun at the border, not to mention encouraging and supporting a justice system that is akin to the worst of Communist countries.

I ask, how did we end up with this?

Well, I’ll tell you.

Biden’s media “Pravda” did a bang-up job of misrepresenting Trump.

They misreported that Trump called Nazis “fine people” when he never did; rather he was talking about “fine people” on both sides of the statute debate.

Biden called Trump an anti-Semite, yet he has grandchildren who are Jewish, he moved the embassy to Jerusalem and he deserved a Nobel prize for the Abraham Accords (which might have stopped Oct. 7). The Russian collusion was an omnipresent hoax, and the FBI’s and the media’s cover of up Hunter Biden’s selling his father’s name had a dramatic impact on the outcome.

Half a billion dollars of “Zuch Bucks” also swayed the vote, not to mention four democratic states changed their polling laws illegally. We were told/gaslighted that if Trump was elected, he would lead us into war … and now we have two!

But what do we have with Biden? His promise to unify the American people. How are we doing on that front? How are we doing with open borders and illegal immigration? Inflation? Increased Crime? Education or lack thereof? The demonization of Trump and Trump voters?

His calling all Republicans extremists? The media referring to Trump as “Hitler,” as someone who will put an end to democracy? As someone who will tear up the Constitution?

Wait a minute, Trump couldn’t even get the wall built because of Congress? I doubt he can tear up the Constitution.

Trump is for closed borders, a robust economy, energy independence, law and order, better education, and negotiation with other countries. Yes, his arrogance is a flaw … but it’s not a deal breaker. Moses stuttered, Grant drank, Patton was arrogant, and Churchill both drank and was arrogant. But they were all unbelievable leaders and visionaries.

Here is an interesting tidbit: despite his press secretary pledging that Mr. Biden would “bring transparency and truth back to the government,” in his first two years, the current president granted the fewest interviews since Reagan: 54. Trump gave 202 interviews during the first two years of his presidency.

Trump’s foes have tried to brand him as a racist, unworthy of votes from Black Americans. But it’s also because he’s a Republican. Fearing backlash, some Black people feel they can only whisper, “I’m voting for Trump.” But others are becoming louder and prouder in voicing support for the former president.

Mark Fisher, co-founder of a Black Lives Matter (BLM) group in Rhode Island, made waves recently with his endorsement of the former president. “I knew I was going to pay a price for it,” Fisher told The Epoch Times. “But I felt like the benefit of doing it far outweighed the cost of me playing it safe.”

Fisher said he felt obligated “to clear a path” for those who think the way he does. He and other pro-Trump Black people are considered renegades.

For generations, Black leaders and churches have encouraged Black people to vote for Democrats, including President Joe Biden. But the tide seems to be turning. Opinion polls are showing that more Black people are willing to break rank, as Fisher did.

Since President Trump’s win in 2016, Black support for him has more than tripled, now exceeding 20 percent in some surveys. Polling suggests that Black people and other minorities who once spurned Trump now appear willing to give his candidacy a fresh look – a trend that could help spell the difference between victory and defeat in the 2024 election.

If you are an American with an “open mind” you can’t help but appreciate what this man accomplished during his tenure while wielding a sword the entire time fighting the liberal media. Overlook his flaws … and see his talents.
