Dear Editor,
This has been another exciting week. Activities galore, my promoter’s hat barely made it off my head at night.
Let me start off with the announcement that after our schools and local law enforcement held intruder drills last week, they beat the national average response time by 10 whole minutes! I bragged very loudly about this at the Uncle Remus Museum, at church, and all through the weekend and I am still going strong! Our law enforcement and our schools are major factors in branding this city and county as number one!
Next news, the Taste of Eatonton event was absolutely fabulous! Great planning, great volunteers, and great participation all around. The food was out of this world and the participation and bands really topped things off. I have to mention the Dubshak band at the Downtown Getdown concert was great, too. Don’t forget to attend these concerts at the Eatonton City Centers Stage.
Sadly, on Monday, Sept. 11th we remembered almost 3,000 souls lost in the World Trade Center attacks back in 2001 in New York City. Please keep those people and their families close in prayer each and every day.
Thought for today: God is the only proper object of our faith, any other object is nothing more or less than an idol.
