Dear editor:
Living in a small town can have some unexpected surprises, which make living here quite nice. On more than one occasion I have had a kind motorist stop in traffic and allow me to make a left hand turn out of my street onto Highway 44. A small thing, but much appreciated. This week, my husband and I were unloading bags of mulch to use at the library. A woman came by, who works at the high school, and offered to help us.
She unloaded the mulch onto our hand truck, and in two or three trips brought it around to the gated area of the library. Then she went on with her walk. The Town and Country Garden Club and The Oconee Master Gardeners have teamed up to clean up and enhance the gated front area of the library. They have weeded, cleaned beds and put down mulch- all this has really brightened up the old entrance. Small things but they make living here very pleasant.
