If defense wins championships, the Putnam County War Eagles may have a good shot at a title this year.

For the second time in the first three games, the War Eagles’ defense shut out their opponent, beating Oglethorpe County 31-0 last Friday night on the road in Lexington.

In fact, a lone touchdown by Hancock County in the second game of the season are the only points Putnam’s defense has allowed.
