Gators baseball ‘clicking’ as playoffs await

Gatewood improved its record to 17-6 last week with a sweep of Windsor Academy and a big win over Pinewood Christian.The wins are racking up for the Gators, impressing head coach Brandon Moss, who thinks the team is starting to peak at the right time.“We have just hit our stride,” Moss said.

Gators gain ground in region play

The Gatewood Gators went 4-1 recently, including a pair of key region wins over Brentwood late last month. The Gators took game one over the Eagles 4-2 on March 25 in Sandersville and followed that performance up three days later with a 7-2 win at home.

Gatewood baseball aims to ‘three-peat’

Heading into the 2025 season, the Gatewood Gators are coming off consecutive state championships, and their focus has turned to securing a third-straight state title under head coach Brandon Moss.

Wooten ‘excited’ to play at Augusta

Playing baseball collegiately has always been Lawson Wooten’s dream. Now, that dream will soon become reality, as the Gatewood pitcher and infielder recently announced he will play baseball at Augusta University next spring.“It’s honestly a dream come true, and I am excited,” Wooten said.
