Mixed results for Gators before break

Gatewood suffered its first defeat of the season on the hardwood last Saturday, falling to a 5-1 record after a high-scoring 89-72 road loss to the Trinity Christian Crusaders.

Gators begin season with 4-0 start

The Gatewood boys’ basketball team had another good week, winning a pair of games over Windsor Academy and Georgia Military Prep. The Gators improved their record to 4-0 and remain among the top teams in the GIAA. The Gators’ first victory came Dec.

Gators, Lady Gators sweep John Hancock Academy

Both the Gatewood girls’ and boys’ basketball teams were in action Monday night in Eatonton, where they hosted the John Hancock Academy Rebels out of Sparta. The Lady Gators won 52-44 to reach a 2-1 record so far this season, while the Gatewood boys prevailed 80-39 in their season opener.

Gators’ basketball visits Athens, attends UGA camp

Several members of the Gatewood boys’ basketball team recently experienced something special. Earlier this month, seven Gators’ varsity hoops players and head coach Don Keiser made the hour-long trip north on U.S. 441 to attend a basketball camp at the University of Georgia in Athens.
