Gatewood basketball players net several awards

The Gatewood boys’ and girls’ basketball programs recently celebrated their seasons with a banquet. During the event, several Gators and Lady Gators were honored for their performances on the court.

Gators feast on Cougars with back-to-back wins

Gatewood baseball extended their winning streak to four last week. The Gators defeated Piedmont Academy 2-1 at home on March 14, and two days later, the Gators beat the Cougars 9-5 in Monticello.

Gatewood continues strong track-and-field start

The Gatewood Gators boys’ and girls’ track-and-field teams got off to a good start in the first week of the season and both looked to continue their success this past Wednesday as they hosted Brentwood, Trinity Christian, Briarwood, John Hancock and Twiggs Academy.

Gatewood gets two wins to even up season record

The Gatewood Gators jumped out to their first hot streak of the season with two straight wins, beating Robert Toombs Christian Academy and Vidalia Heritage Academy last week to boost their season record to 3-3.

Gators run out of gas in Final Four

Central Fellowship Christian ended Gatewood’s season last week in the GIAA Class AA semifinals. The Lancers upended the Gators 83-55 last Thursday at Mercer University’s Hawkins Arena. “It was a great season,” Gatewood boys basketball head coach Don Keiser said.

Gators pick up two wins, lose a close one

The Gatewood Gators were able to capture their first win of the baseball season on Feb. 27 against Stratford Academy in a 5-1 victory. However, they came up just short against Pinewood Christian in a 9-8 loss the next day.

Gators take ‘next step,’ advance to Final Four

The Gatewood boys’ basketball team is having one of its best seasons in program history. The Gators added to their success Saturday with a huge victory over Citizens Christian Academy (CCA), sending them to the semifinal round of the GIAA Class AA state playoffs.
