Noted sportswriter and college football TV personality Tony Barnhart presented his new book, The 19 of Greene: Football, Friendship, and Change in the Fall of 1970 to a packed house on Dec. 5 as the final “Meet the Author” guest of the year for the Georgia Writers Museum (GWM).

From Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird to Maya Angelou’s I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, there have been many great books written about the challenges of racial integration.

GWM welcomes new junior board

The Georgia Writers Museum (GWM) welcomed its new 2023-24 Junior Board last Friday, made up of Rebekah Esau’s Service Leadership class at Putnam County High School. The GWM’s third junior board will create a class project involving the museum during the school year.

Haunted Eatonton tours scare up ‘spooky good’ times

In the spirit of Halloween, the Georgia Writers Museum (GWM) and the Arts Barn joined together to put on this year’s Haunted Eatonton ghost tours. Tours were held Oct. 27, 28, and 30, with multiple groups going out each night at sundown.

GWM hosting cookbook launch for local author

Georgia Writers Museum has announced the book launch of local writer Tara Rocker’s new book, The book launch drop-in party will be held at the museum on Thursday, Nov. 30, from 5-7 p.m., with light hors d’oeuvres served. The author also will be available to sign purchased copies of her new book.
