Piedmont Water welcomes tour visitors

Piedmont Water Company, a privately owned water and wastewater provider based in Eatonton, is one of the largest of its kind in the Southeast. The company operates a water treatment plant at Lake Oconee, offering monthly public tours.

One dead, one missing in Lake Oconee boating incident

The body of a woman who is believed to have drowned was recovered in Lake Oconee by Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources law enforcement officers Sunday morning, and they are still searching for the man she may have been with.

Sugar Creek Marina hosts WJVA fishing tourney

The annual Wild Jaeger Veteran Adventures Fishing Tournament was held on Sept. 14 at Lake Oconee’s Sugar Creek Marina. The tournament is part of the WJVA's mission to reconnect veterans with the military brotherhood and the civilian community.

In a ruling handed down Friday afternoon, Administrative Law Judge Charles R. Beaudrot determined that the Georgia Department of Community Affairs did not present enough evidence to warrant closing down Savannah Court at Lake Oconee Senior Care Center in Greensboro.

PCSO investigating rash of stolen utility vehicles

Fire Department has new rescue boats for each lake

Fire rescue boats designed specifically for Lake Sinclair and Lake Oconee have arrived for the Putnam County sides of the lakes to assist in any type of public safety agency’s rescue efforts.

Habitat receives Del Webb 100 Who Care donation
