Putnam County’s Emma Patrick placed fi rst overall in the middle school Girls’ 3K run Sept. 21, at the 2022 Redskin Invitational hosted by Social Circle High School. At 13 minutes, 16 seconds, Patrick fi nished more than 41 seconds ahead of second-place McKenna Thacker, with Zoe McLeroy third. XC: Pennington and Patrick finish first for Putnam

The Putnam County girls’ cross-country running team has been racing to success this season. At almost every meet so far, Putnam runners have placed in the top 20 or even higher. Alyssa Pennington, a Putnam High freshman, brings speed and power to the team, finishing first overall Sept.

XC: PCHS cross country girls impress in season opener

The Putnam County High School cross country team participated in its first official meet of the season on Aug. 25 in Augusta. Two members of the PCHS girls’ team placed in the top 10.
