Putnam County rallies past West Laurens in scrimmage

Putnam County got a valuable preseason scrimmage test Aug. 14 against one of the state’s more experienced programs, with the War Eagles coming away with a 24-21 victory over West Laurens.

Putnam looks to measure up against West Laurens

Putnam County will get one of its biggest tests of the preseason Friday when it hosts West Laurens in a scrimmage.For head coach Joel Harvin and his team, the matchup is about much more than simply getting back on the field.

The heat is on for Putnam football

With summer workouts complete, Putnam County has officially turned its attention toward the start of the 2026 football season.

War Eagles wrap up camp, prepare for preseason

Putnam County enters preseason practice with a sense of momentum after what head coach Joel Harvin described as one of the program’s most productive summers in recent years.The War Eagles began the GHSA’s heat acclimatization this week, the final step before preseason camp officially ramps up.

War Eagles wrap up spring practice

After losing a strong senior group and several key linemen, Putnam County entered the spring with plenty of questions to answer.By the end of spring practice, head coach Joel Harvin said he felt like the War Eagles had started finding some of those answers.

Putnam County football hires new offensive coordinator

Putnam County has turned to a familiar connection to guide its offense next season, hiring Jodie Sprenkle as the program’s new offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, head coach Joel Harvin recently confirmed to The Eatonton Messenger.
