The Steffen Thomas Museum of Art announced that Steffen Thomas: Rock & Chisel, a documentary on the life of noted artist Steffen Thomas, will screen at 7:45 p.m., Oct. 18 at Athens Ciné, following a 6:30 p.m. reception in the Ciné LAB.

Officials of the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art (STMA) delivered the organization’s annual financial report Aug. 19 to a small group of patrons and benefactors attending a meeting at the museum in rural Buckhead, near Madison.

Literally surrounded by the artist’s work, patrons gathered to honor his wife, Sara Douglass Thomas, during Founder’s Day at the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art in Buckhead.

“Art is dynamite.” Those were the first words to flash across the screen last Thursday night at The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton, to start a one-time presentation of “Rock & Chisel,” a bio-documentary of famed sculptor and painter Steffen Thomas.
