Putnam track and field coach ‘proud’ of state athletes

Putnam County’s track and field team sent 16 athletes to the Class AA state meet last week at East Jackson High School in Commerce. The War Eagles faced fierce competition, with only three securing a spot in the top eight of their respective events.

Putnam pumped up for state T&F meet

After competing at the Georgia High School Association’s Class AA sectionals this past weekend, Putnam County track and field will send several athletes to the state meet at East Jackson High School later this week.Putnam County left a significant mark at the state level.

War Eagles’ track-and-field takes new approach

So far this season, Putnam County’s track-and-field teams have excelled by taking a new approach. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams are competing hard for first-year coach Gary Waller, who is trying to train athletes to “get better” each week.
