New mammography machine put into service at PGH

Putnam General Hospital (PGH) has expanded its services in Eatonton with a new 3-D mammography machine, the GE Healthcare Senographe Pristina. Hospital staff and leadership celebrated the occasion Feb. 12, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Eatonton-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce.

When Mallory and Megan Fitzgerald cut the ribbon to Three Rays Boutique & Head Spa (646 Old Phoenix Rd., Eatonton) last Friday, they were surrounded by a crowd so large it surprised even them.

As part of its Business Breakfast Series, the Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce (E-PCOC) presented a community safety forum Oct. 28 at the county commission building, featuring a fraud prevention expert, a former state trooper, and a local trauma counselor.

It took a few tries early Saturday morning, but store manager April Smith finally managed to cut the ribbon that officially signified Tractor Supply is open for business in Eatonton.
