Six Gators named All-Region, five All-State

After the most successful season in more than three decades for the Gatewood baseball program, the Gators were able to bring home their first state title since 1990. And the accolades did not stop there.

Gators advance to third straight state title

The Gatewood Gators rallied from a 1-0 series deficit last weekend to take their GIAA AA semi-final playoff series 2-1 over the Edmond Burke Academy (EBA) Spartans.

Gators sweep Crusaders, face Patriots next

The Gatewood Gators began their playoff run for a GIAA Class AA state championship by hosting the Trinity Christian Crusaders out of Dublin. The Gators took the two-out-of-three series with back-to-back wins last Friday. Wilson Moore started on the mound in game one for the Gators.

Gators end regular season with loss, now prep for playoffs

Gatewood baseball ended its regular season last week with an 11-0 loss to Pinewood Christian. The Gators traveled to Bellville to play the Patriots for the regular season finale.

Diamond Gators take Region 4-AA title

The Gatewood Gators officially became Region 2-AA baseball champs last week when Piedmont defeated Westminster Christian to end region play for the season. The Gators went 1-2 last week, losing to non-region opponents Class AAAA Bethlehem Christian Academy and Class AAA Stratford Academy.

Gators resume play with three wins

After a week off for spring break, the Gatewood baseball team (12-5, 5-1) resumed its season on the road last week with three straight non-conference wins.

Gatewood baseball goes 5-1 to finish region play

The Gatewood Gators went 2-1 as March came to a close in games against First Presbyterian Day, followed by a home-and-home series versus region rival Brentwood.

Gators win three on the road to extend streak

After a doubleheader sweep on the road last Tuesday against region rivals Westminster Christian in Watkinsville, followed by a non-region, Thursday night win in Macon over First Presbyterian Day, the Gatewood Gators are riding a seven-game winning streak.

Gators feast on Cougars with back-to-back wins

Gatewood baseball extended their winning streak to four last week. The Gators defeated Piedmont Academy 2-1 at home on March 14, and two days later, the Gators beat the Cougars 9-5 in Monticello.

Gatewood gets two wins to even up season record

The Gatewood Gators jumped out to their first hot streak of the season with two straight wins, beating Robert Toombs Christian Academy and Vidalia Heritage Academy last week to boost their season record to 3-3.
