Wooten ‘excited’ to play at Augusta

Playing baseball collegiately has always been Lawson Wooten’s dream. Now, that dream will soon become reality, as the Gatewood pitcher and infielder recently announced he will play baseball at Augusta University next spring.“It’s honestly a dream come true, and I am excited,” Wooten said.

Wooten ices game for Gators to capture title

MACON – During game three of last season’s state championship series, Lawson Wooten was entrusted with finishing out the contest on the mound, a role that could help secure his team a title.

Gatewood golf wins region, eyes state

The Gatewood golf team returned to glory as it captured the region championship earlier this month.Five golfers – Gavin Gignilliat, Lathan Hillin, Ames Johnson, Mikey Padula, and Sean Harvey – combined for a winning score of 318. The championship capped off a great regular season for the Gators.

Six Gators named All-Region, five All-State

After the most successful season in more than three decades for the Gatewood baseball program, the Gators were able to bring home their first state title since 1990. And the accolades did not stop there.
