Robertson finds college ‘home’ at Clayton State

Putnam County football senior Jamarion Robertson has found his college home.Robertson recently committed to Clayton State. He will play quarterback and defensive back at the next level.Robertson is happy to have the recruiting process over, and he called Clayton State “home.

‘J-Rob’ focused on future following injury

Last fall, Putnam County quarterback Jamarion Robertson saw his senior football season cut short due to an injury.A 6-foot-3, 180-pound prospect, Robertson broke his jaw during the first drive against Haralson in the War Eagles' fourth game of the 2024 season.

Passing prevails in Putnam County win over Westside

Putnam County (4-2, 3-0 Region 4-AA) has been a run-first team all season, although its passing game shined on Friday night as the War Eagles defeated Westside-Augusta 28-15 at Al Reaves Field.

Youth helps lift War Eagles past Tigers

Putnam County’s youth up front on the offensive and defensive lines and its rushing attack were key to Friday night’s scrimmage victory over Greene County. After trailing at halftime, the War Eagles fought back in the second half to defeat the Tigers, 27-14.

GAME PREVIEW: War Eagles to host Tigers for scrimmage

Putnam County football is set to host Greene County later this week for a scrimmage to end fall camp. The War Eagles and Tigers will hit the gridiron for a second-straight preseason matchup. It will take place at Al Reaves Field on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Competition builds for War Eagles in summer

Putnam County football recently wrapped up the month of June with a camp at rival Morgan County. The War Eagles are now on a short break due to the GHSA-mandated dead week but will start back up July 13, when they host GMC Prep and Brentwood Academy for a 7-on-7 camp.
