Alliance Home & Land Group selected the Oconee Regional Humane Society (ORHS) as its inaugural quarterly community charity recipient at an event open to the public and where everyone was encouraged to bring donations for the dogs and cats of ORHS.
“This was our first of many Alliance Gives Back-selected charities and we knew exactly who we wanted to kick it off with,” Alliance partner Rich Johns said. From dog and cat food, to toys, blankets, and cleaning supplies, donations overflowed the ORHS lobby. Checks, cash and gift cards also were donated.
“We were ecstatic with the turnout and the amount of donations received,” Bob Miller of the Greensboro-based business said. “We couldn’t be happier hosting such a wonderful charity that does so much for our local community.”
Johns, Miller and Alliance co-owner Chris Hewatt presented a $500 check to ORHS President Bob Hartman as adoptable dogs looked on while light refreshments and beverages were being served.
“Contributing to the mission of the ORHS was important to our entire team since we are so heavily invested in the community,” Hewatt said. “We’re glad that we’ve been able to help support this organization and all of their hard work in finding these loving animals their forever homes.”
Alliance Gives Back will select another charity in November to receive a $500 donation for the fourth quarter of this year. Alliance encourages nominations of local charities from Greene, Putnam, Morgan, Hancock or Baldwin Counties. Please email suggestions to: alliancegivesback@ alliancehomeandlandgroup. com, and include the charity’s name, contact name, contact phone and email, and why you are nominating them.
