Local National Award-Winning Children’s Book Author Andrea Cassell and Kibby, the famous miniature labradoodle, were excited to visit Gatewood School on April 21st. Andrea read the first book in her three-book series, “Kibby the Space Dog”. The first through third graders were elated to hear the story of how Kibby teaches others to be kind and to accept those who are different from us. At the end of the presentation, the girls and boys were thrilled as the “real” Kibby made his way down every row greeting each student. Many of the students ordered books signed by the author and plush Kibby toys. Andrea Cassell, who resides at Reynolds Lake Oconee, is a three-time recipient of the Mom’s Choice-Gold Award as well as the prestigious 2021 Pinnacle Book Achievement Award. Her three delightful books, Kibby the Space Dog, Kibby Gets a Little Sister, and Kibby and Olive Move to Georgia, teach life lessons through the eyes of her dog Kibby.
Kibby attends these special events and interacts with all of the children resulting in an educational and enjoyable day. For additional information on booking Andrea, email her at www.andreal.cassell@ gmail.com.
