Citizen soldiers benefit from local support

The Kim & Lin Logan Team, a local real estate broker, was recently recognized by the 648th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (MEB), a Georgia Army National Guard division, for its ongoing support of deployed and deployed soldiers.

Major Brett Thomas, an officer in charge of his team’s upcoming deployment, presented a flag flown at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait to the Logan Team. The flag was flown in honor of the Brittney Cares Foundation, which supports Major Thomas’ element as they conduct pre-deployment training, as well as providing care packages to currently deployed soldiers.

“Because of the continued generosity of the entire (Kim & Lin Logan Team), we are once again able to make a difference in the lives of others through Brittney Cares. This holiday season you have supported the families of 79 deployed Soldiers in the form of a $5,000 donation,” a printed statement from the 648th MEB read.

Thomas and his own team will be departing soon to replace other 648th soldiers, who will be completing their mission. The Kim & Lin Logan Team recognizes the commitment citizen soldiers of the National Guard make on a daily basis as they balance civilian careers, military service, and family responsibilities. They also acknowledge the stress and dedication placed on family members who assume all duties of home life while their loved ones are away.

It takes a community to support those that support us here at home. Major Thomas and Colonel Kris Marshall (648th MEB Commander), along with their families, are residents and an integral part of the local community. Each has more than 20 years’ of service in the Georgia Army National Guard.

The Brittney Cares Foundation is a charity Kim and Lin Logan formed to honor the memory of the daughter they lost in a tragic lake accident. Each agent on their team voluntarily gives monthly donations from their own commission checks (which the company matches) to help those in the community who are desperately in need. They humbly give thanks to their clients, who make this giving possible.

The Kim and Lin Logan team has two offices to serve the community. One is at 1028 Lake Oconee Pkwy. in Eatonton, and the other at 1041 Village Park Dr., Ste 204 in Greensboro. They can be reached by phone at 706-338-0757. To donate to the Brittney Cares Foundation, please email kimlogankw@gmail.com for information.
