Local musicians Scott Deering, Ronnie Pittman and George Nour will be performing Covers in the Round Oct. 8, under the garden lights at Lake & Local in downtown Greensboro.
Well-known around Lake Country, Deering most often performs with his band, The Usual Suspects. Early this year, he reached out to Lake & Local, inquiring about the availability of the venue, since he and his musician friends are always looking for new places to play and the garden seemed like a great space for an acoustic set, he said.
Deering, Pittman and Nour originally performed at Lake & Local in May to an intimate crowd of about 50 people, with attendees immediately requesting a repeat performance after a night of great entertainment and good times.
Covers in the Round combines the musical talents of Deering, Pittman and Nour with favorite hits from the ‘70s through today, including songs as diverse as “Wildfire” by Michael Martin Murphy, 'Lady Down on Love' by Alabama, and 'Jessie's Girl' by Rick Springfield.
Additionally, concert goers will enjoy a catered dinner of Southern cuisine and dessert by local caterer Jacqueline Evans. A cash bar for beer and wine also will be onsite.
Individual tickets for Covers in the Round are available for $75, both in-store and online at lakeandlocal.com. Purchase includes the concert and a catered dinner. A limited number of tables able to seat four people each are also available right up front, with reserved tables costing $325, including four catered dinners.
Covers in the Round will take place Saturday, Oct. 8, beginning at 7 p.m. at Lake & Local (104 S. Main Street, Greensboro), next to Genuine Georgia. For questions, email Lake & Local at hello@lakeandlocal. com or call 706-920-1130. - Contributed
