Bring your best friend to Greensboro on April 29, for the Circle of Friends Animal Society’s (COFAS) 15th annual Dawgy Dash 5K, a family-friendly, pet-friendly run starting at 9 a.m. outside Oconee Brewing Company (202 N. West St, Greensboro), the race’s Top Dawg sponsor.
The course runs through residential streets in Greensboro, with one water stop about halfway. Race participants get a Dawgy Dash t-shirt, and prizes will be awarded to the top runners and dogs. Run or walk, with or without a canine friend, and help raise much-needed funds for Circle of Friends Animal Society.
Advance registration is only $20 through April 22. Enter online at cofas.org or stop by Durham Veterinary Clinic (1901 Old Eatonton Rd., Greensboro), to enter in person. Entries also can be made on race day from 8-8:30 a.m. for $25 per runner.
The Dawgy Dash benefits Circle of Friends Animal Society, a non-profit charity that helps pets and pet owners in the Lake Country community. COFAS has no shelter building and no paid employees, yet still rescued 846 animals last year alone. In its 15-year history, COFAS has rescued more than 11,500 animals and provided low-cost or no-cost spays or neuters to more than 2,000 local dog and cat owners.
Want your business or family name on the race shirt? Race sponsorships remain available and start at only $150. If interested in becoming a Dawgy Dash sponsor, visit cofas.org or call 706-319-7405.
